Keeping Your Child Safe Online2 October 2024 (by admin) |
A reminder to check pupil's mobile phone and internet use outside of school in order to keep them safe online.
With the longer darker evenings approaching, we know that children could be spending more time online.
To help keep them safe online we will in school be reminding children again of e-safety rules.
EYFS and Key Stage 1 will be learning about how Smartie the Penguin stays safe online by speaking to the adults around him.
In Key Stage 2, children will be reminded to stay SMART on line and follow the SMART rules:
S- safe: Keep personal information safe and secure – do not give it your name, address or phone number
M - meet: Do not agree to meet people you meet on the internet – they may not be who they say they are
A - accept: Do not accept e mails or messages they may contain nasty content or viruses
R - reliable: Check your sources - Information may not be true or someone could be lying about who they are.
T - tell: Tell your parent, teacher or an adult you trust if something worries you
Parents / carers might like to take a look at this guide (click here) to see how they can use parental controls to help keep children safer online at home.
You can also see this guide in poster outside the main school office.
